Cyclocross nerds take note...

Sven Nys's bike was featured in Cyclingnews.com today...

A few things of note...

"Crankset: Shimano Dura-Ace Hollowtech 2 FC-7800, 172.5mm, 46/39T (48/39T on second bike for sprint finish) "

Not the absence of a chain watcher. 130bcd with a 38 or 39 tooth ring = no dropped chains.

Check that tread pattern.... I'm not crazy!

Shop radio...

Andy hooked up the shop's last.fm account to the website. CBC has it's own radio station of sorts. Go check it out.

Cold ass ride today. It was about 27 degrees when we started and did not get much above that during the ride.

Can't wait for spring.

Two days in a row on the mountain bike.

Wednesday night ride with the Altius guys.
Thursday afternoon ride with the rat.

Handling skills still kindof suck but it's getting better.

2 hour ride on a mountain bike > 2 hour ride on a road bike.

Wisdom teeth suck

I have been ignoring the fact that my lower wisdom teeth have been slowly coming in for the last 6 years and refusing the advice of dental professionals to have them removed. Every year or so they would hurt for a few days then stop and I would forget about it. Yesterday one started up again. But this time it had a certain je ne sais quoi that previous bouts with tooth pain lacked. I have never had a cavity in my life... but that run has come to an end. After poking around I shined my Nightrider light back into my yap to discover much to my dismay that the top of my right wisdom tooth has started to cave in and appears to be mostly hollow on the inside.

Sweet!

Time to find a cheap dentist.

About 4 hours. 3 or so with RP, Swampthing, Johnny, Mark W, and two cowboys. Longest ride by far all month.

Gotta get back on track.

Get better Starr.

Starr crashed on her bike today during a training ride.
She suffered a broken collar bone and has some blood on the brain. She is awake and OK but will have to be in the hospital the next few days. She is at MCV.

If you have time try to go see her and wish her well. If you want to get a card or message to her bring it by the shop and we will make sure she gets it.

Thanks.

The only thing I hate more than the rain is riding indoors.

Easy 30mins of recovery to work.
Fast 30mins of leg speed on the way home.

Rain tomorrow? WTF?

8:30 meeting with two people about spring track series. It's going to happen. The question is how long and how free?

3 hours from the house... Some with Robert, Rat, and others. Some solo.
Cold cold hands.

Easy tomorrow.

Here are two really amazing designs that Japan's Tomity San was nice enough to make for the Go Fast Turn Left race series... look for some stickers really soon.

No ride today... felt like a bag of crap for that.

Had a somewhat secret meeting this morning.

How about a weekly track race series that goes all season long? Could happen.

Happy new year...

Got back from new years day ride. Keck and company ripped it apart from the get go. I buried myself to hang on for the first 20 miles but eventually wised up and fell in with the second group. It was about 28 degrees when we started and did not get much above freezing the whole ride.

It was one of those rides that on any other day would have been miserable. But the company makes all the difference. Keith, Sly, Elvin, Dinsmore, and others chilling with me in the 2nd group made an otherwise cold and hard ride lots of fun.

I should really ride with them more often. On the way back Matt was on the front almost the whole way. He really does not race much anymore but is still a beast.

Good news is the legs felt good during that kind of effort for the first time since summer. Encouraging.
